Space Hulk: Brother Claudio
Here it is, I'll just let the pictures speak for themselves. This was my entry for the Jawaballs painting contest. The hardest part was probably the heraldry.
Nicely done! The embedded jewels and highlighting on the blades look great. I would recommended adding some paint to the base, looks like it got overlooked a bit.
@Skywatcher: I did neglect the base. It's magnetic and I had a devil of a time making the space hulk base fit in, and it wasn't judged for the contest, so I didn't worry about it. I should go back and add some bronze cables or something for contrast.
@Warhammer39999: White primer, Blood Red overcoat, Baal Red wash, Devlan Mud wash, first highlight with Blood Red, second highlight Blood Red mixed with Fiery Orange, third with Fiery Orange, final with Fiery Orange mixed with Bleached Bone. I hear Vomit Brown also works as a final highlight.

ReplyDeleteI love the contrasting colours you've chosen to make everything stand out from the armour.
ReplyDeleteWow, those reds are amazingly rich. What's your secret?
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
